The large residential area on the site of an old gasworks next to the Thames was Erskine's last completed project. When it was completed by Tovatt Architects and Planners in 2010, more than a thousand apartments and detached houses had been built, as well as a centre with shops and community services. The principle of a wall against the north wind and lower buildings in its protection had been used by Erskine in many earlier areas. The large dimensions are broken down with the help of paint and a silhouette of vaulted roofs that look more like a mountain ridge than a conventional house. During the process, from the competition win to completion, the area gradually became denser.
