Lilla Bommen

Erskine never retired as an architect, but he increasingly worked with other offices, removing the need for a large staff to handle large tasks. In the work on Lilla Bommen, the collaboration took place with White architects. He was involved in the visions, and with the tall building at what was then the Göta Älv Bridge's abutment, he began a development of the river room that would then continue for many years. The high-rise can hardly be called elegant, but Erskine believed that "God not only created the fast, shapely gazelle, but also the pig. Just like the pig, slightly clumsy and thick buildings can be beautiful as long as they get a twist at the end."
